“Belt & Road” Law Seminar: Legal and Regulatory Landscape for Businesses in Indonesia

Abstract:
This talk will introduce the “Belt & Road Initiative” and discuss the case of Indonesia in this context. It will provide an overview of Indonesia’s business environment and its legal and regulatory landscape. Investment regulations, opportunities and compliance risks will be covered. Labor laws will be emphasized. Intellectual property protection will be discussed. Consumer protection and data privacy laws will be highlighted. Cultural considerations and business practices will be covered. The talk will also explain the importance of legal compliance for long-term success in Indonesia.

Amelia Lo Esq. graduated from The University of Hong Kong Faculty of Law and completed the Master of Business Administration at The Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Master of Public Health at Harvard University. She has worked in Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Dalian, Washington D.C., Dubai and Rome, Italy for a range of clients including Fortune 100 companies and international organizations.Amelia has international legal experience and holds law practice licenses in New York State, Washington D.C., England & Wales, Hong Kong and China’s Greater Bay Area.
