Fiona’s talk will educate students about the many career pathways open to human rights/public interest lawyers and the career progression of human rights/public interest lawyers, as guidance for students planning their careers.

Fiona will discuss her career path, some interesting aspects of her current and past human rights/public interest work and provide an overview of human rights/public interest careers available

Fiona is the CEO of Justice Connect, Australia’s largest and oldest pro bono clearing house. It provides access to justice to disadvantaged people and community organisations, through referral to pro bono lawyers and dedicated outreach services to specific client groups. Prior to this, Fiona worked at World Vision Australia, holding various positions including General Counsel. Before joining World Vision, she was the pro bono co-ordinator and national corporate citizenship manager at law firm Clayton Utz. Fiona is Deputy Chair of the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission and a board member of the Human Rights Law Centre.
