SYNOPSIS:
Professor Stipanowich has recently been central to two surveys conducted in the arbitration world: one canvasses Fortune 1000 companies about their dispute resolution polices and another, more recent, survey collects the views of leading commercial arbitrators. Both produced interesting, and to some extent surprising, results; Professor Stipanowich will report on the findings with an emphasis on the more recent survey of commercial arbitrators.
Professor Coe has in recent years been one of four Reporters, commissioned by the American Law Institute, to produce a Restatement on the US Law on International Commercial Arbitration. Professor Coe will report on recent developments in American arbitration law affecting international disputers, which will include among others developments the US Supreme Court’s first encounter with a BIT (Investor-state)arbitration award.
